| Strength & Endurance To effectively build strength and muscle tone - and in turn change your body shape weight training is vital. Research has shown that regular resistance training can increase your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) by up to 15%, which means you have the potential to burn more calories on a day to day basis. Consequently this improves your co-ordination, flexibility and core stability. Strong muscles, tendons and ligaments can handle stress better, and also helps protect the joints. |

| Core Stability The core muscles lie deep within the trunk of the body and attach to the spine, pelvis and muscles that support the shoulder blade. Core stability is essential for daily activities as it helps to keep you fit; prevents injury and ensures good posture while seated. You can improve your core stability by getting "in touch" with individual muscles and small groups of muscles that support your trunk, and by using these muscles more effectively. Exercises you can do at home include balance work, pelvic floor work, and basic abdominal & back floor exercises…. however using equipment (weights, fitballs, foam rollers, BOSU) can assist in challenging you to achieve better core stability. |
